Neighborhood Spotlight: Crestwood, Fort Worth
A Neighborhood Spotlight on Crestwood, Fort Worth, exploring daily life in a historic neighborhood where older homes, natural light, and the Trinity River shape how people live.
A home search is personal by nature, shaped as much by place as by the house itself. This Neighborhood Spotlight explores Fort Worth and DFW neighborhoods through lived experience—architecture, local character, and the details that shape daily life. Each feature reflects what gives a neighborhood its distinct feel, informed by the people who live there and the homes they inhabit. It’s a place to consider how neighborhoods reflect the people who live there, and how that collective identity carries into life at home.
One of the things I love most about Crestwood is the mix of charming older homes with beautiful new builds. Each house expresses its owner’s unique personality, and 3704 Wildwood is no exception. The 1942 cottage was one of the original homes built in the neighborhood and sits nestled between two mature oak trees — a beautiful symbol of the rich history of the neighborhood. The interior is bathed in natural light that pours in through the home’s many windows. When they entrusted me with preparing their home for its next chapter, the homeowners reflected on life there with a thoughtful, artful sensibility echoed in the way they made the house a home.

Fort Worth is a unique and personable city that exudes warmth and healthy pride. Eschewing the sprawling corporate blandness of Dallas, it has a strong and welcoming identity that embraces the true spirit of Texas. The Trinity Trails connect various Fort Worth neighborhoods — from Crestwood to downtown to the Stockyards — making it easy to get around. We have an abundance of restaurants and museums, a great zoo and Botanic Garden, Stockyards, and Sundance Square. If you wear a cowboy hat and ride down the street on a horse, you'll be greeted with smiles and nods. At the same time, Fort Worth is also a dynamic and thriving city, bursting with creative energy. It's walkable, bikeable, and safe.
What is your favorite spot in the house? Why?
Every spot in the house is cozy but I prefer to be by a window to connect with natural light and the surrounding space.
